Ranklean: Smart cleaning and control for your apartment

Tarragona is an industrial, commercial, and heritage city that has welcomed us with open arms, helping us grow with respect and harmony. Currently, at TGNA Tarragona Apartaments, we manage five apartment buildings for both short and long-term stays in the city center. We cater to both professional and leisure travelers, offering our spaces to those visiting for work or for pleasure. Ranklean is PropTech at the service of the guest and the cleaning team This January, we are launching Ranklean, our smart cleaning and apartment control application. Ranklean is an in-house project, the result of the tireless effort of Luis, manager of TGNA Reial 1, and the teamwork between engineers, cleaning staff, and management. The competitive edge of TGNA is our 100% in-house team, and their daily dedication to ensuring our accommodations are always clean and ready. In this sense, respecting and fairly compensating a job well done is what guarantees the true quality of our apartment rental service—there’s no other secret to it. Ranklean streamlines the checkout process and encourages co-responsibility This new tool by TGNA Tarragona Apartaments has been funded by the RESETTING project (EU COSME program) and by the last-mile digitalization grants from the Spanish State Secretariat for Tourism (SEGITTUR), within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan. In conclusion, with Ranklean, TGNA Tarragona Apartaments establishes itself as a leader in digital and sustainable tourism management (SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, and SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities) in the capital of the Costa Daurada.
Calçotada in Tarragona

When the winter cold arrives, between January and April, it’s calçots season in Tarragona. It’s the time to enjoy a traditional calçotada. Whether with family, friends, or colleagues, this gastronomic experience is one of the most anticipated in Catalonia. At TGNA, Tarragona Apartments, we know how to stand out from any hotel in Tarragona and offer you the opportunity to enjoy a truly special calçotada on one of the terraces of our apartments in the center of Tarragona. Discovering Tarragona means immersing yourself in its history, gastronomy, and local traditions. Seafood dishes like suquet de peix from the Serrallo or the calçotada with romesco sauce are a must to experience our cuisine. Similarly, the Camp de Tarragona is the true pantry of the city. The best ingredients for our restaurants are produced here. Thanks to our local commerce, Tarragona enjoys high-quality fruit, vegetables, fish, and meat. A real luxury for lovers of fine cuisine. Calçotada in an apartment in Tarragona At TGNA, Tarragona Apartments, we want you to feel at home. That’s why we offer you a gastronomic journey into the Mediterranean essence of Tarragona. We encourage you to enjoy a calçotada on the terrace of one of our apartments in the center of Tarragona. You can choose between TGNA Llúria 11, Reding 22, Rambla 68, or Cervantes 8. Although it may seem complicated, organizing a calçotada in Tarragona is easy. You just need to know where to buy cooked calçots or where to go to a specialized restaurant. To prove it, we held a small calçotada on the interior terrace of TGNA Cervantes 8 and bought a bundle of 25 cooked calçots for €7.50 at Calçots Santacreu. We accompanied this delicious calçotada with a romesco sauce from Fruits S&P and a Camí de la Font wine from Vinyes del Tiet Pere. A true celebration of Mediterranean flavors. IGP calçots de Valls First of all, it should be noted that the calçotada was born at the end of the 19th century in Valls, thanks to a farmer named Xat de Benaiges. One day, to change his usual lunch, he decided to eat some grilled onions, which eventually became a typical dish of Catalan popular cuisine. Tarragona is a city full of history, where visitors are captivated by its ancient urban center and its rich Mediterranean side. In Tarragona, you can explore the city center, shop at the Mercat de Bonavista, or take a walk to the Tamarit Castle, passing by the calçots planted in the Hortes de Ferran along the way. Near Tarragona, we find some of the best producers of IGP Calçots de Valls d’ Horta Blanch . With over 30 years of experience, they grow the best calçots in Catalonia , available in their shop, greengrocers and supermarkets in Altafulla and Tarragona. Cooked calçots to take away in Tarragona In Sant Salvador, near the Tarragona petrochemical complex, we find the family-owned company Calçots Santacreu, specialized in the cultivation and cooking of calçots to take away. They offer excellent quality at reasonable prices. In Tarragona, it’s common to buy cooked calçots and finish the meal by grilling meat, a convenient option for families and groups of friends. You can also find cooked calçots at the greengrocer El Racó del Pagès, in the Vall de l’Arrabassada, and at the shop El Corral de Boscos, specializing in homemade food to take away. Calçotada at restaurants in Tarragona In the Serrallo neighborhood of Tarragona, Restaurant Varadero offers a taste of calçots all year round, while Mas Roselló Restaurant and Piticuixa Restaurant offer a seasonal calçotada menu, with a usual price range of €40-50 per person. For an authentic calçotada, the best option is to visit El Trull Restaurant, a small establishment offering Catalan cuisine and grilled dishes on Via Augusta, recently awarded as the best traditional dish on the show Joc de Cartes. In addition to the more classic options, it’s worth highlighting the restaurants located in the industrial zones of Tarragona. Restaurants Molina and El Gordo 2 offer daily menus at competitive prices and, during the winter, they serve grilled dishes and… calçots. Romesco sauce recipe for calçotada Finally, we would like to highlight that every city center has a library, and our TGNA Cervantes 8 building is next to the Tarragona Library, which has over 175 years of history. Taking advantage of its proximity, we visited the first floor of the library and consulted their Catalan cuisine recipe book. In this way, we’re sharing a romesco sauce (salvitxada) recipe, perfect to accompany the calçots of the season. Ingredients: Preparation: first you will have to soak the nyoras and then you will have to separate the flesh from the skin. Second, you need to scale and peel the garlic and tomatoes. Finally, all the ingredients must be brought together to grind them with an electric arm. Comments: the amount of oil or vinegar can vary depending on the taste of each person and there is the possibility of adding a little mint to flavor the sauce. The romesco sauce and the calçot sauce are not quite the same. Uses: The dried fruit will stand out quite a bit in the sauce, so it pairs well with grilled or roasted vegetables, any blue or white fish cooked the same way or even steamed, seafood, and also cold meats. However, calçots, as the name suggests, are the most suitable vegetables to enjoy with this sauce. Just be careful with the amount of chili you add, depending on who will be using it. Roser Festivities

This October, the Roser Festivities celebrate their Centenary (1925-2025), a milestone that showcases the unmatched strength of tradition and community. At TGNA Tarragona Apartments, we are honored to be the newest residents of the Part Alta of Tarragona. At TGNA Tarragona Apartments, we are committed to the city and actively collaborate throughout the year with the Calle Merceria Neighborhood Association, the Friends of the Part Alta, and the Geganters of Passeig Torroja, sponsoring their participation in events such as Carnival, the Tarragona Drag Gala, the Sant Magí giants’ gathering, and now, our debut at the Roser Festivities. This time, we collaborated on the design of the 10 commemorative flags that can be seen this year from Calle Merceria to Plaza del Fórum. These newly created flags pay tribute to the most cherished symbols of Catalan popular culture, from the emblematic giants and big-heads, to the Catalan pubilla and the Ball de Bastons, finishing with the Colla Xiquets de Tarragona. In addition to the creative aspect, we wanted to make the logistics of this great celebration easier by giving the keys and access to our Merceria premises to the neighborhood association. We know that these festival are the result of countless hours of voluntary effort, and any practical support is essential to ensure a successful centenary. The Part Alta is our new home. We hope to establish ourselves as long-term residents with our new TGNA Merceria 2 apartment building project, which we expect to complete before 2027. In the meantime, we will continue working together to keep our traditions alive. Silver Economy in Tarragona

Coinciding with the celebration of October 1st, the International Day of Older Persons, and following TGNA’s participation in the recent Silver Economy event organized by the Diari de Tarragona, this article highlights the growing importance of the senior sector in Tarragona. The city of Tarragona not only offers a high quality of life but also positions itself as a destination for a senior generation that refuses to live by labels—one that has a confirmed apartment move-in date but no set departure date. Today’s senior lives fully, travels, takes care of their grandchildren, and actively seeks new experiences and the authenticity of the destination. It’s a lifestyle that doesn’t stop and creates a new brand where no one needs to stand out to be seen as active. Tarragona’s rich Roman heritage, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, attracts thousands of senior visitors each year. This demand for leisurely cultural tourism drives the city’s leisure, dining, and transport sectors. Food and wine experiences for seniors in Tarragona A key element of Tarragona’s appeal for seniors is its local cuisine, intrinsically linked to the Mediterranean diet and healthy aging. Tarragonan cooking is based on products from the sea and the land, featuring excellent extra virgin olive oils, nuts, oily fish, wines, fish stew (suquet), calçots, and… romesco! This Tarragona cuisine—maritime, Catalan, and locally sourced—not only satisfies culinary pleasure but also directly contributes to our well-being. The richness of its cuisine is complemented by exceptional wines: the province of Tarragona is home to as many as eight Protected Designations of Origin (PDO). In this context, the TGNA apartment network highly recommends visiting the Mas Vicenç winery for a quality wine tourism experience, further strengthening the Silver Economy offering. Silver Economy: medical tourism in Tarragona This commitment to older adults is reinforced by a strong healthcare network, which is key to medical tourism in Tarragona. The city is home to the reference hospital Joan XXIII and the historic, century-old Hospital de Santa Tecla, which manages an extensive healthcare network. The medical offering has been strengthened with the recent opening of the new Viamed Hospital next to the Anella Mediterrània. This demonstrates a continuous investment in infrastructure for the senior population. In addition, specialized medical centers such as Embriogyn demonstrate that Tarragona attracts both medical talent and international patients. These top-quality healthcare services are essential for the Silver Economy. Senior long-stay accommodation For seniors seeking extended stays, whether for medical reasons or leisure, the city offers flexible accommodation solutions. The TGNA apartment network includes five buildings ideal for long stays, offering comfort, autonomy, and excellent accessibility This more relaxed type of accommodation allows guests to enjoy the Mediterranean essence, the culture, and Tarragona’s unparalleled gastronomy, all with the comforts of home. Tarragona thus establishes itself as a key territory for the Silver Economy, thanks to its extensive network of regional health and transport infrastructures, as well as a global brand image associated with heritage and quality of life, ensuring a high-value offering for active aging.
