On August 8, 2026, the traditional Meeting of Giants and Big-Heads of Sant Magí returns for its eleventh edition. This is a must-attend event for all lovers of local culture and folklore. This year’s celebration will feature 24 giants from Catalonia and Aragon, the lively “Estrella Band” brass band, and a few more surprises.
Organized by the Geganters del Passeig Torroja and the Club Maginet, the event features a lively parade through the historic center, marching to the beat of popular traditional tunes like “El Bequetero” or “Jaume Guasch“.
The parade will kick off on Rambla Nova, right next to the Balcó del Mediterrani. From there, the giants and guest groups will wind their way through the most iconic streets of the Part Alta (Old Town), including Carrer Major, until they reach Plaça de les Cols. At 7:00 PM, the newly restored Gegants Vells (Old Giants) will be officially presented in the very same square.
The grand finale will take place at Pla de la Seu. All participating groups will join in a spectacular collective dance—a powerful display of this living tradition that cements Tarragona’s reputation as one of Catalonia’s premier cities for giant-lore.
