Surrounded by pine trees and with a nudist section, Savinosa beach is a Blue Flag beach that is ideal for tranquility. The sand is of high quality, it has showers and a bar, but parking is limited. Capellans Beach Capellans beach is a small cove hidden among cliffs. Thanks to this natural protection, the sea is calm there even with an undertow, unlike more exposed beaches such as Llarga Beach or Miracle Beach It does not have services, which gives it a more natural and pristine environment. The sand is fine and it is an ideal place for an intimate getaway. Access is easy by car, but parking can be a challenge. Llarga Beach Its name says it all: it is the most extensive beach in the city with almost 3 kilometres in length, which has different beach bars and restaurants. Despite being very crowded in the summer and having parking that is sometimes complicated, its wide extension makes it easy to find a quiet place to lay out your towel and spend the day, either by taking a peaceful walk from one end to the other or by hand-picking some razor clams. Cala Fonda o Waikiki Cala Fonda is the natural paradise of Tarragona. This secluded cove with fine sand is exclusively accessible on foot from Platja Llarga. Once you arrive, the beauty of its surroundings, with pine forests and transparent waters, will take your breath away. Having no services, l’Arboçar is a completely natural beach that must be respected, as it lives and suffers from social overexposure. Roca Plana Its protected environment makes it an idyllic place to disconnect. Access is on foot, a small effort from La Móra or Llarga beach that is completely worth it, as it lacks services. Located in the area known as the Marquesa Forest, this cove is a hidden gem. La Móra Beach La Móra beach is a Blue Flag beach, 450 meters long with a family-friendly atmosphere. Despite its urban surroundings, it retains a natural essence with pines, fine sand, and complete services. Its proximity to the residential and restaurant area makes it very convenient for families, although parking can be tricky in the summer. Cala Jovera With Tamarit Castle as a backdrop, this small cove with fine sand is a magical place. It’s the smallest in the area and is perfect for a quick visit. However, it has no services, and the nearest paid parking is inside the campsites. Tamarit Beach Located right next to the castle, Tamarit beach is a spectacular place. The sand is fine with pebbles (in winter) and the beach is very extensive, reaching as far as El Vinyet and La Roca del Gaià, with full services and a blue flag. It is part of a protected natural area, with the mouth of the Gaià river as a natural bastion with its characteristic ducks, and the castle as a spectacular heritage element. 10th Parade of Giants and Big-Heads of Sant Magí
On August 17, 2025, the tenth edition of the traditional parade of giants and big-heads of Sant Magí will be held. A must-attend event for all lovers of popular culture, which this year will feature 15 giant groups, or ‘colles,’ from Catalonia and Aragon. This edition is special because the parade is returning to its traditional route. The Geganters del Passeig Torroja and the Club Maginet have prepared an itinerary that runs through the historic city center to the rhythm of music, with well-known songs like “El Bequetero” or “Jaume Guasch“. The parade will start at the Rambla Nova, right next to the Mediterranean Balcony (‘Balcó del Mediterrani’). From there, the giants and guest groups will make their way through the most emblematic streets of the Old Quarter (‘Part Alta’), such as Carrer Major, until they reach the Plaça de les Cols. The grand finale of the festival will be at the Pla de la Seu. Espai Mammuthus
The Espai Mammuthus in La Canonja is an ideal museum proposal for a family visit, perfect for a stay or getaway to the city of Tarragona. A million years ago in La Canonja, the world was very different from today. Mammoth and Prehistory Museum in Tarragona At the new mammoth museum, you’ll discover what this place was like before and the beings that inhabited it. Bike tour in Tarragona with Cicliste per Caso
Silvia Gottardi, from Cicliste per Caso, visited Tarragona in February 2025. Our guest was on a bike tour in bikepacking mode, following the EuroVelo 8. This route took her from Valencia to Bologna, covering 1,400 km. Silvia spent the night at TGNA Reding 22, our apartment building located at Plaça Corsini in the heart of Tarragona. Tarragona city, an Internationally recognized tourist destination
The city of Tarragona has experienced constant tourism growth in the last two years, with a notable increase in travelers and overnight stays in hotels, campsites, cruise passengers, and apartments in Tarragona. According to the latest 2024 data provided by public organizations such as the National Institute of Statistics, the number of travelers in tourist establishments in Tarragona has reached 563,862, a 3.36% increase compared to the previous year. The number of overnight stays in 2024 has been 1,653,741, also including these four types of establishments, with a growth of 5.46%. These figures also reflect the growing appeal of Tarragona as an international and year-round tourist destination. In addition, the average length of stay has seen a slight increase of 2.03% compared to 2023, reaching an average of 2.93 nights per traveler, mainly due to the growth in stays at campsites and apartments. Apartments in Tarragona as a Driving Force in the Tourist Destination In fact, one of the most significant developments of 2024 has been the remarkable growth of tourist apartments in Tarragona. If you want to experience this product at its best, the New Olive Oil Festival in Tarragona is a must-visit event in the Camp de Tarragona, held on the last weekend of November. The event takes place in Corsini Square, near the TGNA Reding 22 building. During the festival, you can taste olive oil from various cooperatives and brands associated with the Siurana PDO.. Discover Tarragona: a journey through flavors and history. The local cooperatives of the Siurana PDO present their oils at various stalls, allowing visitors to compare the flavors of the harvest from each village. After tasting the olive oil, you can purchase a bottle in sizes such as 1 liter, 2 liters, or 5 liters, at an approximate price of €11 per liter. Tarragona offers a wide variety of local, km0 products, and this festival is not only an opportunity to taste the new olive oil, but also to support local producers.
