It’s autumn — the season for mushrooms, chestnuts, new wine, and fresh olive oil. In Tarragona, it’s the perfect time to enjoy the New Olive Oil Festival of the Siurana PDO, where you can taste recently pressed olive oil, one of our true culinary delights.

First pressed olive oil, also known as unfiltered extra virgin olive oil, is a fresh, cold-pressed product. It has an intense flavor that captivates lovers of fine cuisine.

If you want to experience this product at its best, the New Olive Oil Festival in Tarragona is a must-visit event in the Camp de Tarragona, held on the last weekend of November.

The event takes place in Corsini Square, near the TGNA Reding 22 building. During the festival, you can taste olive oil from various cooperatives and brands associated with the Siurana PDO.

Discover Tarragona: a journey through flavors and history.

The local cooperatives of the Siurana PDO present their oils at various stalls, allowing visitors to compare the flavors of the harvest from each village.

After tasting the olive oil, you can purchase a bottle in sizes such as 1 liter, 2 liters, or 5 liters, at an approximate price of €11 per liter.

Tarragona offers a wide variety of local, km0 products, and this festival is not only an opportunity to taste the new olive oil, but also to support local producers.

At the Tarragona Central Market, you’ll find local fruits and vegetables, Tarragona’s blue fish, and artisanal cured meats — perfect to pair with Tarragona’s olive oil.

Oil of the First Press: A Culinary Experience in Tarragona

Strolling through Tarragona is a way to discover the city’s authentic flavors. From the apartment buildings of TGNA, you just need to walk along the Rambla Nova to reach the Mediterranean Balcony.

Finally, from TGNA Tarragona Apartments, we took the opportunity to purchase a bottle of Antara first-press olive oil from the Coselva cooperative.

This oil, smooth and intensely aromatic, is perfect when paired with a good slice of organic bread from Forn Andreu, drizzled with fresh tomato, creating an irresistible combination

So, with this first-press olive oil, we prepared a delicious autumn appetizer in one of the TGNA Reding 22 apartments. Paired with fuet from Casa Pladevall, tomatoes from Manoli, and a white wine from the Tarragona D.O., we enjoyed a truly flavorful gastronomic experience.
